Pencil and watercolor on paper
Layout for book made in Indesign
The project is a visual narrative in the form of a book where the theme is loneliness. It features the story of a character who lives in a book accompanied by a voice that criticizes her every move. The character is stuck in this state of loneliness and makes efforts to get out of this situation.
The story is divided into four moments: hopelessness, loss, helplessness and finding a way out. These chapters are separated by a door-page. A number of doors must be opened by the reader in order for the character's story to progress. With each chapter showing a different facet of the character's nature, this process serves as a layered analysis.
The illustrations and text that make up the book are made on A3/A4 format in traditional mediums: pencil drawing combined with watercolor. These were scanned and laid out in Indesign. The book has 64 pages, a cardboard cover that shows the spine, and the information on it is written by hand.
